Dressed in light and shadow: RAINMAKER Autumn/Winter 2026
RAINMAKER's Autumn/Winter 2026 collection has arrived at Stactile. RAINMAKER is a Kyoto-based brand by designer Koichi Watanabe. This season, in its twelfth year, the brand held its first runway show in its home city of Kyoto. The themes are Junichiro Tanizaki's essay "In Praise of Shadows" and the Baroque painter Caravaggio: a collection that finds beauty in the contrast between light and dark.
1. LOFTED ULSTER COAT and LOFTED ULSTER SHORT COAT
Coats with an ulster collar. The front body and sleeves are cut from a single piece of fabric, with a distinctive curve running from the shoulder to the neck. The outer fabric is wool saxony flannel, bonded to a 3mm urethane foam middle layer and a polyester jersey lining to hold a sculptural shape. Available as a long cocoon silhouette and a short version.

2. WRAP COAT
A coat whose front body and sleeves are formed from one piece of fabric. Cutting the fabric on the bias creates drape and a natural A-line, and the waist belt lets you change the silhouette. The fabric is a double weave in thick recycled wool yarn.

3. HAKAMA TROUSERS and HAKAMA SWEAT PANTS
Wide pants inspired by the hakama. The HAKAMA TROUSERS have three deep pleats that create volume and drape. The HAKAMA SWEAT PANTS bring the same wide silhouette to a fleece-back jersey, with pockets in the style of baker pants.

4. FOX CASHMERE ZIP UP SWEATER and FOX CASHMERE HOODED STOLE
Knitwear in a yarn blended from fox fiber and cashmere, milled after knitting. The rib-knit zip-up sweater works as either an inner layer or outerwear. The hooded stole wraps the head, ears and neck, and can be worn as a stole or as a hat.

5. BREATHABLE WATERPROOF KITE COAT
A field coat with large sleeves, inspired by the structure of a kite filling with wind. Its flat, linear construction also recalls Japanese dress. The fabric is a breathable, waterproof nylon by PERTEX.
